SMRT Architects and Engineers Adds Owners

Portland, ME – SMRT Architects and Engineers, with offices in Portland, Maine; Andover, Mass; and Albany, N.Y., announced that seven employees have joined its ownership ranks, as the company continues growing its key markets of healthcare, justice, government, corporate, science/technology/industry, and education.

SMRT’s newest owners:

Erin Anderson, IIDA, LEED AP, ID+C, NCIDQ, EDAC, is director of interior design. She brings a deep knowledge of current trends and research to every project. She speaks nationally on workplace and healthcare design trends.

Suzette Bois, CPA, has served as SMRT’s finance director for 15 years. As director of finance and operations leader, she keeps the firm’s financial house in order, while continually enhancing the business monitoring and reporting tools of the company.

Andrew Bradley, PE, is leading the firm’s structural engineering group. He has developed a strong reputation for engineering innovative, cost-effective structures, with elegant solutions that marry form and function.

Katherine Everett, PE, LEED AP, serves as co-leader of the mechanical engineering group. She recently led the design of a complex HVAC system for a 640,000sf facility, awarded one of the country’s first LEED Gold for Healthcare certifications.

David Mains, AIA, CSI, CCCA, is co-leader of the firm’s science/technology/industry practice. Besides life sciences and technology, he’s also led justice, public safety, healthcare, and corporate projects.

Derek Veilleux, AIA, NCARB, SMRT’s architectural discipline leader, focuses on healthcare design and forms partnerships with clients to design high-performing spaces positively impacting staff, patients, and families.

Richard Webb, ASLA, LEED AP, is director of site design. He has 35 years of experience, with special expertise designing sports and athletic venues.
