Shawmut Design and Construction Hires Two Managers for NY Office

New York – Shawmut Design and Construction recently hired Vytas Sipas as project executive and Winston Lewis as manager of estimating for the company’s New York academic group.

In his role, Sipas will oversee the office and field teams and will be accountable for all aspects of client satisfaction for his projects. He will head up projects for Riverdale Country School, Whitney Museum of American Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Convent of the Sacred Heart.

Prior to joining Shawmut, Sipas worked for Sciame and Tishman, where he worked for a number of impressive clients including CUNY, Onyx Real Estate Partners, New York University, West Point, Penn State, IKEA, and AEG. He is an associate member of the American Institute of Architecture as well as a member of the Construction Management Association of America and the American Association of Engineering Societies.

Lewis will lead the entire budgeting efforts with the project management team as well as with the support of the estimating department. He will be managing multiple projects for the preconstruction efforts for the Riverdale Country School. During preconstruction, Lewis will direct all budgeting and pricing, manage estimators to ensure accurate and timely budgets, and provide value engineering recommendations and cost studies for alternate systems and materials.

Before joining Shawmut, Lewis worked at Structure Tone, Inc. for 14 years as the senior estimator. Some of his past clients include New York University, Boston Properties, St. John’s University, and Fordham University.

“Vytas and Winston’s experience have already shown in the projects they have worked on,” said Tony Miliote, vice president. “Vytas brings with him a creative background and value for customer satisfaction, while Winston provides extensive construction experience and insight. We expect that both will greatly enhance the team as we continue to grow.”
