Columbia Promotes Two, Hires One

North Reading, MA – Columbia Construction Company recently announced the promotions of Bill Aalerud, LEED AP, to vice president of corporate planning and development and Shawn Gallant to operations manager of Columbia Interiors, as well as the hiring of Mike Walsh as vice president of business Development.

In his new role as vice president of corporate planning and development, Aalerud will oversee corporate administration and development functions. Throughout his 25+ year career, Aalerud has been responsible for the oversight of numerous operating divisions, requiring him to manage and train staff on policies and procedures. Aalerud graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell with a civil engineering degree and has an MBA from Babson College. Known for his experience and interpersonal skills, as well as his strategic planning expertise, he is responsible for working closely with the firm’s principals to help guide Columbia’s long-term strategic growth.

 

 

 

Shawn Gallant

Shawn Gallant

Gallant has more than 20 years of experience in the construction industry. He graduated from Nichols College with a B.S. in business. Gallant joined Columbia in 2000 as a project manager in the Interiors Group, and in 2006, he was reassigned to Mainstream Operations as a project manager on larger projects, most recently as Columbia’s Life Science Division leader. In his newly established position as operations manager for Columbia Interiors, Gallant oversees Columbia Interiors project management and field operations.

Mike Walsh

Walsh joins Columbia with over 23 years of experience in the construction industry on a local and national level. As vice president of business development at Columbia Construction, his primary focus is to develop new business opportunities across Columbia’s six market sectors. He is responsible for overseeing the business development, marketing, and client service initiatives for the Company. Walsh is actively involved in NEHES, ISPE, IFMA, and ASHE. He is also on the board of directors for NEHES.
