Suffolk Downs Celebrates Grand Opening of The Amp

Revere, MA — The HYM Investment Group and the City of Revere celebrated the official grand opening of The Amp at Suffolk Downs, a new 600-person-capacity outdoor amphitheater and open space at 125 Salt Street in Revere. The Amp marks one of the first permanent parks and public spaces to deliver at the 161-acre Suffolk Downs redevelopment, serving Beachmont Square residents, neighbors, and visitors.

Totaling approximately 1.5 acres, The Amp is envisioned as a year-round destination with live performances, cultural events, and neighborhood gatherings. The site also functions as a resiliency and stormwater asset: situated less than half a mile from the Atlantic Ocean and adjacent to Sales Creek, its water basin incorporates a smart stormwater management system with real-time monitoring and automated flow controls that treats runoff before it reaches the creek and helps reduce localized flooding risk.

“We’re thrilled to celebrate the official opening of The Amp at Suffolk Downs with the Revere community,” said Thomas N. O’Brien, Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer of The HYM Investment Group. “The Amp reflects our broader vision for a resilient, community-centered neighborhood — creating space for residents and visitors alike to gather, connect, and enjoy programming year-round, while incorporating sustainable infrastructure designed for the long-term.”

“Suffolk Downs is bringing more accessible amenity spaces to Revere with The Amp. We are eager for the fun activities and gatherings that will be hosted for years to come, bringing community together or finding solace in the engineering marvel of resilience and open space. This is another exciting addition to the Beachmont Square neighborhood,” said City of Revere Mayor Patrick M. Keefe, Jr.

The Amp’s opening coincides with Suffolk Downs’ 2026 Summer Series, a lineup of free events running Thursday and Friday evenings from June through September, including five live performances. The inaugural show is July 10 with Locust, a Winthrop-based band, followed by a Beatles tribute on August 7 and a funk and disco night on September 11.

The Amp is accessible via the MBTA Beachmont Blue Line station.
