Rockport, MA — Rockport Music’s Shalin Liu Performance Center has completed a renovation spanning all four floors of the oceanfront concert hall. Corderman & Company, a Boston-based construction management firm, performed the upgrades in collaboration with Boston architecture studio Hacin.

The work included a renovated green room for performing artists, improved patron amenities, and a reimagined reception hall and bar. An updated lobby now greets guests at the entrance, and new lighting, paint, and carpeting run through the hallways and staircases. The narrow timeframe for the work required close schedule management and coordination across teams.
Rockport Music has presented artists including Yo-Yo Ma, Dianne Reeves, Justin Hayward, and Marc Cohn at the Shalin Liu Performance Center since it opened in 2010. The hall pairs world-class acoustics with views of the ocean and the North Shore coastline. The renovation elevates the space to better match the performance hall and the talent it hosts.
