Woburn, MA — The Gould Construction Institute (GCI) has been selected for a three-year, $225,000 grant from the Cummings Foundation through its annual grant program. The award will support GCI’s mission of preparing individuals for careers in construction through industry-driven education, registered apprenticeship, and employer partnerships.
GCI was selected from a competitive pool of Boston-area nonprofits. In 2027, the Cummings Foundation will distribute $35 million to 150 local nonprofits through multi-year grants.
“This grant funds the tools needed to both create the workforce we need to meet demand for construction professionals and make the American Dream a reality for many more families,” said Cummings Foundation executive director and trustee Joyce Vyriotes.
“This transformational investment by the Cummings Foundation will allow us to expand access to high-quality apprenticeship and workforce training, helping more individuals launch rewarding careers while providing employers with the skilled professionals they so urgently need,” said Gould Construction Institute president Julie DeStefano.
