Lustgarten Joins Gensler Boston

Boston – Erik Lustgarten, AIA, recently joined Gensler’s Boston office as director of its growing life sciences practice area.

He has more than 15 years of experience designing laboratories. His project portfolio includes more than 6 million sf and spans the globe, from laboratories at the Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research in Cambridge, Mass. to the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

An active member of the New England Chapter of the International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories, he serves on the board of directors and as treasurer.

He has served as a National Science Foundation grants review panelist and spoken at numerous regional and national conferences, including the 2015 Laboratory Design Conference, where he explored the influence of architecture and technology on collaboration in the evolution of the laboratory environment.
