Boston – Madison Park Technical Vocational High School, YouthBuild Boston, and the New England Carpenters Training Fund hosted the 2018 Fall Protection Stand-Down in Roxbury, which coincides with OSHA’s National Safety Stand-Down Week highlighting the importance of fall protection.

A speaking program was followed by three hands-on safety workshops where YouthBuild Boston pre-apprentices and Madison Park students reviewed fall protection standards with top industry professionals.

Workshops included Personal Fall Arrest Systems, led by Suffolk and Whitecap; Boom Lift Safety, led by Marr Scaffolding and AGC; and Ladder Safety, led by Gilbane Building Co. and Shawmut Design & Construction.

This event took place at an active project site at 31-33 Woodville St., where students from YouthBuild and Madison Park High are building a new two-story home that will be turned over to the city of Boston as newly available affordable housing.
