Here is today’s WIC profile!

Linda Shaughnessy, EEO Compliance Officer and Community Relations Liaison at Walsh Brothers, Inc.

With more than 20 years of experience in the industry, Linda has spent the last 12 years working on many complex projects for Walsh Brothers, Incorporated. During her tenure at the firm she has been involved on a multitude of projects for clients such as Boston University, Harvard Business School, MIT and Partners HealthCare. Linda’s efforts and established policies on the Integrated Sciences project at UMass Boston created one of “the most diverse public construction projects in Massachusetts history”. Her passion for involving women, minorities and local residents in the construction of buildings within their community, teamed with her knowledge and experience within the industry, allowed the project to meet or exceed the BRJP percentages and city-wide workforce goals. Helping to increase the number of female workers on construction sites, Linda is not only a mentor to other women at Walsh Brothers, but she also received a “Crushing Barriers for Women” award from the Policy Group on Tradeswomen’s Issues (PGTI), a group that offers women in the trades structured support. Last year Linda was a volunteer for Rebuilding Together Boston, joining hands with others on National Rebuilding Day to support the local community in renovating and revitalizing homes for those who need it most. When Linda isn’t breaking barriers for women in the construction industry, she can be found volunteering at the local Veterans Post, acting as a role model to her two children, or chasing after her new grandson.
