Burlington, MA – Suffolk Construction has been selected to perform preconstruction and construction management services for phase one of the Stilts Infill Master Plan for Lahey Hospital & Medical Center. Suffolk is partnering with architect firm FreemanWhite on the project.
Located on the academic medical center’s Burlington campus, the $60 million project will consist of a 190,000sf addition featuring a new emergency department, shell space, and mechanical areas to infill Lahey’s existing Stilts structure and tie in to its occupied clinical facility.
The Suffolk project team will utilize Lean Construction processes and Model-Based Estimating to enhance team-wide collaboration, eliminate waste, and ensure efficient project delivery. Enabling work will begin in the fall. The project is scheduled to be completed spring 2017.
The project has been designed to achieve LEED Silver certification.
