Block Island, RI — Haynes recently celebrated the groundbreaking of the new Harborside Inn on Block Island alongside local and state officials, community leaders, and project partners, marking the start of construction on the redevelopment of one of the island’s most iconic waterfront destinations.
The 22,000-square-foot project will replace the historic hotel lost in the 2023 fire with a new building that honors the architectural character of the original while featuring 32 guest rooms and ground-floor retail space.
To accommodate the island’s peak tourism season, Haynes completed Phase One of construction this summer and will resume work in the fall as seasonal activity slows, keeping the project on track while minimizing disruption to the surrounding community.
