Shepley Bulfinch Receives Award

Pagliuca Harvard Life Lab

Boston – Shepley Bulfinch announced today that the American Institute of Architects (AIA) has recognized the firm with a 2018 AIA/CAE Education Facility Design Award for the Pagliuca Harvard Life Lab at Harvard University in Allston, Mass. The AIA honor is the fifth design award for the Pagliuca Harvard Life Lab project.

The Pagliuca Harvard Life Lab is the newest addition to Harvard University’s Innovation Labs ecosystem, supporting Harvard students and alumni in their quest to create ventures that improve the world. Located on Harvard’s Allston, Mass. campus, the 15,000sf, two-story modular building is a pilot project for innovation and entrepreneurial co-working space with a focus on life sciences. The mission of the Life Lab is to provide Harvard students, faculty, post docs and alumni with a fully equipped wet-lab environment and resources needed to take their ventures to the next stage of development.

Sponsored by the AIA Committee on Architecture for Education (CAE), the AIA Education Facility Design Awards of Excellence recognize projects that represent state-of-the-art learning environments and exemplary practice in educational facility design.
