Somerville, MA – Somerville-based civil engineering, transportation consulting and land surveying firm Design Consultants, Inc. (DCI) merged its operations with GM2 Associates, Inc. (GM2) on Dec. 31, 2020. GM2 is a consulting engineering firm, headquartered in Glastonbury, Conn., with offices in four New England states, New York and Florida.

“The joining of our companies provides our clients with full-service engineering and national expertise in highway, traffic, structures, rail, survey, energy and construction engineering, while maintaining a strong local Massachusetts presence,” says DCI’s president and CEO, David Giangrande, PE, who becomes GM2’s senior vice president in charge of the firm’s Massachusetts operations. “DCI, a GM2 Company, will continue to operate as it has in its Somerville office.”

Giangrande stressed that DCI’s clients will continue to work with the same staff that they previously had working on their projects, but may find opportunities for even more of a single-source experience than DCI provided on its own.
