Metro Walls Receives ABC NH/VT Safety Award

awardManchester, NH –Metro Walls  recently received a Safety Award from the Associated Builders and Contractors of New Hampshire/Vermont.

According to ABC NH/VT, the award recognized Metro Walls for most improved safety program and creativity with its employee training program within the 100,000-200,000 man hour category. The award was submitted by Leo Marchesseault, Metro Walls’ full-time safety director. The criteria for the Creative Safety Award included programs that were designed to promote safety, reduce accidents or to provide a solution to a unique condition, which was encountered on a job site or in the workplace.

“With the hiring of Leo as our Safety Director, he was tasked with taking our existing and solid safety program to the next level,” said Mike Dion, Metro Walls President. “Leo’s hard work and dedication to safety has really brought our program to an outstanding level and this Safety Award is recognition of that. Under Leo’s supervision, Metro Walls was accepted into the ABC Self Insured Group, he has implemented countless safety programs to include our Return to
Work Program. On the jobsite he has implemented a device called TopLock Scaffold Brake which is mounted to a mobile scaffold that allows the user to secure the scaffolding without climbing up and down every time the scaffold needs to be moved. This not only improves time,
but more importantly reduces the risk of injury to our workers. Our safety culture has improved thanks to Leo and his dedication to ensuring a safe work environment.”

The 2014 Construction Industry Safety Awards were judged by an independent panel of judges. Metro Walls was recognized at ABC’s Annual Safety Awards Program.
