Center to Provide Recovery Services in Malden

Bridge Recovery Center

Malden, MA – Callahan Construction Managers (Callahan) announces their participation in the construction of the Bridge Recovery Center in Malden. The Bridge Recovery Center will provide peer recovery in a safe and supportive environment through individual and group treatment, allowing peers to help one another through their recovery efforts.

Callahan’s involvement at the property stemmed from their work alongside the city of Malden to execute J Malden Center, a transit-oriented, mixed-use development that revitalized the city center. Upon completion of this project, the mayor of Malden and city officials approached Callahan about the renovation of the Bridge Recovery Center. Callahan was able to donate time and resources toward getting the center open.

Callahan, in partnership with The Gavin Foundation and Malden Overcoming Addiction, offered construction expertise on the renovation for the Bridge Recovery Center. Callahan reconstructed the existing property’s second floor, adding an industrial kitchen, two restrooms, a reception area and a recreation room. Callahan also aided with installing paint and flooring throughout the space.

The Gavin Foundation is a nonprofit agency providing comprehensive adult, youth and community substance abuse education, prevention, and treatment programs since 1962 and now serves over 10,000 individuals each year. Malden Overcoming Addiction was founded in 2016 and has grown to about 100 members. The Bridge Recovery Center will offer a variety of services through community partnerships, including the employment of Cambridge Health Alliance’s outpatient clinical services, ABCD food services, housing assistance and job training, NARCAN training by Cataldo Ambulance, computer classes provided by Business Solutions Unplugged, media workshops held by 3MG Boston, a YMCA, and Seven Mile Road Church for spiritual wellbeing.
