Campanelli Wins Two AGC of MA Awards

Braintree, MA – Campanelli Construction has earned the AGC’s 2013 Sustainability Award for Green Construction (SAGC) for the construction of South Shore Medical Center in Norwell, Massachusetts. Additionally, the company announced they have won the AGC’s 2014 Safety Award for the eighth time.

The SAGC Award is given for sustainable buildings that combine energy efficiency, appropriate land use, minimal ecological impact, use of recycled or renewable materials and/or merit in integrating sustainable concepts with traditional building requirements. This is the second healthcare facility Campanelli has built that has won an SAGC Award. In the past several years, the company has construction approximately a quarter of a million square feet of healthcare facilities in Massachusetts.

The Campanelli team worked closely with ownership, FoxRock Properties and architect, Steffian Bradley, to incorporate sustainable elements that reduced environmental impact during the construction process and that will reduce the carbon footprint of South Shore Medical Center over its entire lifetime.  South Shore Medical Center is an 85,000 square foot healthcare facility consisting of 100 examination rooms and 70 medical offices.

The AGC’s 2014 Safety Award acknowledges the outstanding efforts in safety performances used by Campanelli Construction. Campanelli follows strict compliance with all OSHA requirements as well as local, state and federal health and safety regulations, while also requiring every on-site person to obtain a safety certification.

Jeff DeMarco, President of Campanelli Construction expressed, “safety and sustainability are two very important components of a Campanelli project. We are very proud to have received these two awards.”
