Wilton, CT — Altieri has won The Architect’s Newspaper’s 2026 Best of Practice Award in the MEP Engineer category. AN called for entries from firms across North America that combine strong design with a commitment to building a better place to work, judging submissions on portfolio, office culture, and social impact.

Altieri’s award-winning submission highlighted the firm’s efforts over the past five years to advance gender equity, including the launch of Women in Engineering, the firm’s first employee resource group; more than 100 volunteer hours engaging female students and early-career professionals; an internal mentorship program; and use of the Just label framework to guide workplace practices.

During this period, Altieri doubled representation of women in leadership and filled 75% of summer internships and 32% of total job openings with women. Five Women in Engineering members have been promoted since the group launched, and women make up more than 30% of the firm’s mentors and mentees. Since 2022, half of Altieri’s scholarship winners have been young women headed for college and engineering degrees.

“Altieri’s motto of Making Bold Visions Work and its deep support for women in engineering is truly commendable,” judges said.
