AGC Webinar to Address Impact of COVID on Construction

Arlington, VA – On Sept. 2 at noon EDT, the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) and Autodesk will release new data showing the scope and impact of construction workforce shortages and how the ongoing coronavirus, including the Delta variant, has impacted the sector.

The data will include national, regional and state figures and will be shared during a virtual media event. The new data is based on a survey of construction firms and includes details on how the coronavirus is impacting jobs, the sector’s use of technology and how the industry can grow again.

Stephen Sandherr, AGC’s CEO, and Ken Simonson, chief economist, will release the new data and identify measures public officials should take to address workforce shortages and offset the impacts of the coronavirus. Allison Scott, director of construction thought leadership and customer marketing at Autodesk, will discuss how technology can help address current workforce issues. Construction contractors will discuss local labor conditions and the steps they are taking to cope with them.

State data will be available for Ala., Alaska, Calif., Colo., Fla., Ga., Idaho, Ill., Ind., Iowa, Kan., Ky., La., Mich., Minn., Mo., Neb., Nev., N.C., N.Y., Ohio, Okla., Ore., Pa., S.D., Tenn., Texas, Utah, Va. Wash. and Wisc.
