Wellesley, MA — The Associated General Contractors of Massachusetts (AGC MA) welcomed more than 200 members and industry partners to the Garden at Elm Bank on June 11 for its 2026 Summer Social, an evening of networking, celebration, and recognition of outstanding contributions to the construction industry.
The event featured the presentation of AGC MA’s 2026 Member Distinction Awards, which recognize individuals and organizations whose leadership, service, and commitment exemplify the best of the construction industry.
“This event is an opportunity to celebrate the people who make AGC MA and our industry stronger,” said John Ferrante, CEO of AGC MA. “Our Member Distinction Award recipients represent the very best of our membership through their leadership, dedication, and commitment to advancing the construction industry. We are proud to recognize their contributions and the positive impact they have on our association and the communities we serve.”
At the event, the SIR (Skill, Integrity, and Responsibility) Award was presented to Bill Aalerud of Columbia Construction Company. The SIR Award is AGC MA’s highest individual honor and recognizes exceptional leadership, integrity, and service to the construction industry. This is the second time AGC MA has honored a member with the SIR award.
“Bill Aalerud has been an extraordinary leader for AGC MA and a tireless advocate for our industry,” Ferrante said. “His contributions as a board leader, mentor, and champion for our members have helped shape the association and strengthen the construction community throughout Massachusetts. The SIR Award is a fitting recognition of his lasting impact and the legacy he continues to build.”
