Westbrook, ME – The newly completed 90,848sf Stroudwater Lodge Senior Living community is open to residents.

Northbridge Companies of Burlington, Mass., and The Sandy River Company of Portland, Maine, developed the project that is located at 116 Landing Road, just off Spring Street, with quick access to I-95 and minutes from downtown Portland. PROCON of Manchester, N.H., was the construction manager, and Gawron Turgeon Architects of Scarborough, Maine, designed the building.

Stroudwater Lodge is an attractive community echoing the style of a Maine Lodge with gabled roofing and a heavy timbered A-frame entry. Inside, the welcoming lobby features a stone veneer two-sided fireplace and concierge desk with a grand staircase leading to the second-floor mezzanine. The property also boasts a mile of walking trails for outdoor excursions.

The three-story, 95-apartment community offers luxury studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments with the option of independent or assisted living.

It is a thoughtfully designed environment offering a robust selection of convenient programs and services that work with the residents’ age, not against it. Onsite amenities include a theatre, salon and barber shop, gourmet kitchen, pub, fitness center, and an outdoor patio with a fire pit. Planned group programs are also available for the residents to enjoy, such as cooking classes with the executive chef, computer classes, yoga or even learning how to paint though the Artists in Residence program.

According to PROCON’s project manager there have been many favorable responses to the new community. He stated, “We have had compliments all around by everyone who has seen the final product. People love the property and they love the way it turned out.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Stroudwater Lodge to the Northbridge family.” Stated Wendy Nowokunski, President of Northbridge Companies. “The local Westbrook community has been so welcoming and we look forward to serving many local families and the greater Portland in the years to come.”

Stroudwater Lodge sits on a beautifully wooded 65-acre campus adjacent to the well-renowned Avita of Stroudwater which opened in 2013 and specializes in Alzheimer’s disease and dementia care. The two communities cover the full continuum of senior living options and function as part of the larger Westbrook community with common areas for local events. Northbridge owns and manages three other senior living communities in Brunswick and Wells, ME. Together, the three new communities will generate 285 jobs in the state of Maine and directly address the current high demand for senior housing.
