Massport Launches Massport Next Innovation Platform

Boston, MA — The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) has launched Massport Next, a platform that connects startups, entrepreneurs, industry leaders, researchers, and public partners to collaborate, test new ideas, and bring solutions to life.

“Massport Next is about opening our doors to new ideas and fresh perspectives,” said Rich Davey, Massport’s CEO. “Whether it’s a startup with a new technology, a researcher with a groundbreaking idea or an industry partner looking to collaborate, we want Massport Next to be a hub where people can connect, test solutions and help shape the future of the innovation economy here in Massachusetts.”

Massport’s airports and waterfront properties can serve as places to test and demonstrate new technologies. The initiative focuses on building connections, fostering collaboration, and helping promising technologies move from the drawing board into everyday operations. It supports the Authority’s mission to serve as an economic engine for New England and to strengthen the Commonwealth’s aviation and maritime sectors.

The initiative builds on innovation efforts already underway across the Authority, including:

  • Sustainable Aviation Fuel Hub: partnerships that accelerate the development and adoption of sustainable aviation fuel across New England.
  • Remote Terminal in Framingham: the nation’s first off-site TSA screening and baggage check facility, providing a more convenient journey to Boston Logan.
  • Customer Experience Improvements: technologies including the OSCAR intelligent recycling system that improves waste sorting.
  • Blue Edge: opportunities for blue technology companies to pilot maritime tools that improve operations, create jobs, and support the future of the Port of Boston.
