Putnam Gardens Renovation Project Reaches New Milestone

Interior of Putnam Gardens

Cambridge, MA – CTA Construction Managers of Waltham recently completed the fourth of 10 phases of the Rental Assistance Demonstration revitalization project of Putnam Gardens.

Located in the Riverside neighborhood of Cambridge, Putnam Gardens is an affordable housing community that features 122 units in three buildings. It is owned by the Cambridge Housing Authority.

CTA Construction is partnering with Boston-based Bargmann Hendrie + Archetype, Inc., the architects on the project.

Over the next two years, CTA will continue its work renovating the remaining six phases of the Putnam Gardens renovation.

The Rental Assistance Demonstration work at Putnam Gardens includes phased renovations of apartments, including new appliances and cabinets in kitchens, new finishes and fixtures in bathrooms, additional upgrades to wheelchair-accessible units, new washing machines, repainting of units, exterior repairs to masonry, and upgrades to the boiler plant, fire alarm, and sprinkler systems. The full project is scheduled to be complete in 2018.
