Hopkinton, MA – CTA Construction Co. Inc., based in Waltham, will undertake the $8 million expansion and renovation of the historic Hopkinton Public Library, a project that will nearly quadruple the facility’s footprint.

CTA will use its expertise in green building techniques to meet industry-leading environmental standards. The project architect is Johnson-Roberts Associates, and owner’s project manager is Construction Monitoring Services, Inc.

The project will expand the existing 5,783sf library to 22,000sf, with added meeting space, full accessibility, computer terminals to access digital collections, a children’s room with a story/activity area, a technology classroom, a young adults section with homework area and study group room, and space for library and community events.

The Hopkinton Public Library is two historic buildings — the original 1895 library and adjacent 1898 church joined by a 1967 addition. Project completion is scheduled for next year.

“We congratulate the town of Hopkinton for undertaking this important civic project, and we look forward to working as a partner in completing this fine facility to serve your community,” said Paul DuRoss, project executive with CTA.
