BPDA Approves 530 Residential Units

Boston – The Boston Planning & Development Agency’s (BPDA) board of directors recently approved 11 development projects representing a combined investment of $295 million that will generate over 650 construction jobs. Below are summaries of the newly approved projects.

  • The proposed $17.6 million 16 Ronald Street project in Dorchester will include the development of a four-story residential rental building with 54 total housing units.
  • Trinity Green Investments, LLC will construct a three-story, 28,546sf, $8.5 million residential building at 123 Hamilton Street. The building will have 52 studio rental units.
  • Marine Wharf hotel for Raymond L. Flynn Marine Park will be built for a total project cost of $160 million. The proposed 320,000sf hotel will be located at 660 Summer Street.
  • Dorchester’s 202 Southampton Street is a $4.5 million, 22,400sf project. As proposed, the project requires the remodeling of the existing building to provide space for the new showroom.
  • The $6.2 million, 23,400sf 16 Boardman Street, residential building will have 19 homeownership units for the Orient Heights neighborhood.
  • There are updated development and master plans for 480 Rutherford Avenue, a $45 million building with 177 residential units, of which 23 units will be designated as affordable.
  • A $9.5 million, 40,940sf residential building for Jamaica Plain’s 76 Stonley Road project will include the development of a new four-story, 30,72gsf, 28 unit rental residential structure with 23 parking spaces.
  • New Mikvah building, replacement onsite synagogue, and residences in Brighton is a $13.6 million, 99,645sf 101-105 Washington Street project that will include the construction of a seven-story residential development, along with a new replacement onsite synagogue.
  • 64 residential units will be built on 301-303 Border Street, a $21.6 million, 75,167sf project in East Boston.
  • The $9 million, 117,000sf renovation for 771 Harrison Avenue, known as The Cosmopolitan, will include the renovation and conversion of the existing church and attached Link Building into 63 rental units.
  • The scope of the 64 Allandale project was modified from 20 townhouses to 18 to ensure that all new buildings will be located outside of any wetlands buffer zones, and the revised layout will provide a minimum 10-ft. clearance from the edge of such zones.
