Devens, MA – N.B. Kenney Company, Inc. recently completed two HVAC projects at Massachusetts colleges.

In August, Wentworth Institute of Technology (WIT) opened its new student residences at 525 Huntington Avenue. Designed by Beacon Architectural Associates, this seven-story complex houses up to 300 juniors and seniors in units fully equipped with kitchen and laundry facilities. N.B. Kenney Company installed piping and mechanical systems to heat and cool the new 110,000sf building.

In October, N.B. Kenney finished HVAC work on the renovation of the Schneider Center at Wellesley College. In order to create a new admissions center, designLAB Architects planned a gut renovation of the structure down to its shell. N.B. Kenney’s work included demolition of all mechanical equipment, ductwork, and distribution piping. This was followed by installation of new systems and associated piping throughout the basement and two upper floors.

Shawmut Design and Construction, the general contractor, coordinated trade contractors to complete a bright, open-concept space that retains many of the historical features of the building.

“These projects highlight N.B. Kenney’s ongoing commitment to excellence in the higher education sector. We are very honored and proud to have been a part of the construction teams on these two great college campuses,” said Steve Kenney, president of the company based in Devens, Massachusetts.
