Civil1 Designs CPV Plant

Oxford, CT – Civil1, of Woodbury, will be the lead civil engineer for the upcoming Competitive Power Ventures (CPV) Towantic Power plant to be located in Oxford. The firm is heavily involved in the design and implementation of essential techniques for the successful construction of the state-of-the-art facility.

CPV Towantic will permit, build, and operate a new 805 megawatt combined-cycle electric generator in the Woodruff Hill Industrial Park. The entire facility will be fueled by clean natural gas and include two combustion turbines, two heat recovery steam generators, and one steam turbine which will be capable of producing highly efficient electricity with minimal environmental impact.
