NHS Receives Grant

Boston – NeighborWorks Housing Solutions (NHS), a housing service provider in southeastern Massachusetts, announced it has received a $260,000 grant from Wells Fargo to support homelessness prevention, homebuyer education and financial coaching programs for individuals and families across southern Massachusetts including Brockton, Quincy, and New Bedford.

Wells Fargo also recently donated an additional $25,000 to NHS to help the organization provide support for households affected by COVID-19.

NHS’ affordable housing development and economic advancement programs take a comprehensive approach to affordable housing, financial education and counseling, becoming foundations for economic stability for families and individuals.

This grant will enable NHS to grow its programming, which has been a key component for addressing the needs of their constituents, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

As part of this programmatic growth, NHS, a CHAPA-approved Housing Counseling Agency, is expanding homebuyer education and trainings to include a completely online First Time Home Buyer class. These classes will continue to provide students with working knowledge of the home buying process and allow participants opportunities to make educated decisions that will work for them and their financial situation.
