Corporate Art Group Completes Installation at Thundermist

DSC_5096 (1)Wakefield, RI – Corporate Art Group has recently completed an oceanic-themed art installation for the Thundermist Health Care Facility in Wakefield. Art consultant Briana Rignanese worked closely with Thundermist to develop an art package that brought a sense of peace to patients while stylistically flowing throughout the entire facility.

Creating an art package for a healthcare facility is a completely unique process from any other industry. Whether it is an assisted living facility or a blood lab, consultants at Corporate Art Group collaborated with interior designers to create an atmosphere that maintains patient and staff well being.

DSC_5208A total of 41 artworks ranging from photography, painting, and sculpture was incorporated into the Thundermist facility. Seascapes can begin to look the same; to keep the artwork refreshing, Rignanese made sure to use pieces that were original and dynamic. Photographs of local beach scenes were printed in-house, on large-format printers, and stretched as a gallery wrap for the exam rooms. Abstract images with strong nautical elements were displayed using a floater frame, giving the works a contemporary feel.

DSC_5147 (1)The oceanic theme for Thundermist was initially inspired by the facilities close proximity to the water, dualistically the ocean is often thought to serve a natural stress reduction which worked specifically with Thundermist mission. While selecting the artwork, Rignanese worked to make sure she understood the flow of the facility, creating an art package that not only assisted the patients but also the doctors and nurses who work there everyday.

Placed in waiting rooms, these seascapes and abstracts create a soothing effect for patients waiting for their appointments.

In a large stairwell with windows to the outside, Rignanese took the opportunity to do a grand 3D installation of ceramic water creatures. Silver and white concave and convex sea urchins highlighted by blue accent bowls filled the walls of the stairwell. The installation can be seen from the parking lot and has a high impact as soon as the facility is in view. As Corporate Art Group continues to create custom interior art designs for health care facilities, they constantly inspire to style a sense of hope within the walls.
