Contract Awarded for Hanscom AFB Water Surveillance Program

Bedford, MA – The United States Air Force recently awarded SAK Environmental a contract at Hanscom AFB in Bedford to perform drinking water quality compliance monitoring, base-wide.

The Hanscom AFB public water system serves a population of approximately 12,000 and is classified by the state of Massachusetts as a Consecutive Community Water System. HAFB receives all of its potable water from the adjacent towns of Lexington and Bedford. Monitoring will be performed in accordance with state and federal regulations and Air Force directives which include monitoring for PFAS/PFOA compounds.
