While similar to apartment and condominium buildings, dormitories often have specialized uses and requirements that impact signage. These facilities often have suites with multiple bedrooms, lots of shared
spaces, and may even include cafeterias or other eateries. Because of the unique nature of student living,
sign programs for dormitories often include specialized items such as integrated whiteboards at suite
entrances, additional life safety signage like individual bedroom identifiers, and food servery signs.

Whitney Veigas designed the sign program for the recently completed North Hall dormitory at Framingham State College. North Hall will house 400 students and was designed by Pfeufer Richardson Architects. The firm is also working on two student living projects that are under design and construction.

For the new dorm at the Berklee College of Music being designed by William Rawn Associates, Whitney
Veigas is utilizing their new expedited sign planning service to create specifications and construction
documentation for the signage at this new 370 bed facility.

In addition, they are working on the new ADD, Inc. designed residence hall under construction at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Whitney Veigas will design, supply, and install the signage for this building, which also contains a student health clinic and residence floors for the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.

All of these projects include interior suite and bedroom identifiers, other ADA and wayfinding signage, and exterior building identification signs.
