USGBC, ACC Team Up on LEED

LEED-LogoNational – The U.S. Green Building Council and the American Chemistry Council launched an initiative to develop LEED criteria for sustainable and environmentally protective products using a technical and scientific approach. USGBC and ACC will collaborate during LEED’s usual updating process, which includes a public comment and technical review period, to incorporate new safety, sustainability, and life cycle-based criteria for building products used in LEED buildings. ASHRAE, the International Code Council, the American Institute of Architects, the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America, and USGBC also recently created a partnership to collaborate on the development of Standard 189.1, the International Green Construction Code, and the LEED green building program.
