Suffolk and S/L/A/M Collaborate on Emergency Ctr

Methuen, MA – Suffolk Construction Company and the architectural firm, The S/L/A/M Collaborative, recently joined with officials of Holy Family Hospital in Methuen to celebrate the hospital’s 60th anniversary by topping off the new $21 million emergency center.

The 21,000sf facility nearly doubles the hospital’s capacity to care for emergency patients, providing patients and families from southern New Hampshire and the Merrimack Valley with greater access to advanced emergency medicine. When the expanded emergency center is completed in 2011, the hospital will be able to accommodate 54,000 emergency visits annually.

The new, uniquely designed emergency center will be equipped with 34 private treatment bays, including six fast track rooms; an on-site, state-of-the-art CT scanner; and a double trauma room.

Caritas Healthcare, the owner of Holy Family, has awarded Suffolk and The S/L/A/M Collaborative projects on multiple campuses, including the Carney Hospital, Good Samaritan Medical Center, St. Anne’s Hospital and St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center. Suffolk is partnering with The S/L/A/M Collaborative at Holy Family Hospital.
