Marion, MA – South Coast Improvement Company (SCIC) announced the promotion of three long-standing leaders to senior vice president roles. Alex Browne has been promoted to senior vice president of preconstruction, Gareth O’Neill has been promoted to senior vice president of business development, and Matthew Smyth has been promoted to senior vice president of operations.
“These promotions are a direct reflection of sustained performance, deep industry knowledge, and the trust each of these leaders has earned across our organization and with our clients,” said Henry Quinlan, president. “As SCIC continues to grow, it is essential that we place the right people in the right roles—and Gareth, Matthew, and Alex have consistently demonstrated that they are exactly the right leaders to help drive our next phase of growth.”
Browne has progressed through the organization from site supervision to project management and preconstruction leadership, giving him a comprehensive understanding of the full project lifecycle. His experience includes healthcare, education, and occupied renovation projects, and expertise includes estimating, planning, budgeting, and risk mitigation.
O’Neill brings more than two decades of international construction experience and a comprehensive understanding of the construction market, as well as a strategic, relationship-driven approach to growth. Having held roles spanning site supervision, project management, and executive leadership, he has driven revenue growth, expanded market presence, and secured significant opportunities by aligning client needs with SCIC’s capabilities.
In his new role, Smyth provides comprehensive oversight of operations, bringing nearly 20 years of industry experience managing complex new construction and fully occupied renovation projects. His background spans civil, structural, roofing, and MEP work, coupled with a strong focus on safety, quality control, and operational efficiency.
