Boston – The Rebuilding Together Boston (RTB) board announced that Manikka Bowman has been appointed as the organization’s new executive director following the retirement of Karen Clay.

The board also announced that this year marks RTB’s 30th anniversary as the only nonprofit in Boston to provide critical service projects at no cost to area homeowners and organizations.

“Manikka knows the Boston community well and will bring her talent and resources to the organization as we emerge from the COVID -19 pandemic. Also, she is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion, and is well-positioned to lead RTB as a community engagement partner,” added Travis DeMar, RTB board co-chair.

Most recently, Bowman served as director of policy for the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Boston/New England. She currently serves on the Cambridge School Committee as vice-chair, school committee member.

Prior to ULI, she served as the manager of fund development for The Community Builders, Inc; and as a Proteus Fund diversity fellow for the Boston Opportunity Agenda and the Barr Foundation.
