PWC-CT Hosts EDU Panel for Southern New England

heThe Connecticut Chapter of Professional Woman in Construction (PWC-CT) will host a panel discussion and meeting entitled “Issues and Impacts, Southern New England Higher Education” on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at the Sheraton Hartford South in Rocky Hill, CT.  This is one in a series of educational and networking events hosted by PWC-CT, whose programs are tailored to professionals in the architectural, engineering and construction fields as well as interested members of the public.

Colleges and universities are consistently challenged to maintain energy efficient, technologically advanced, cutting edge — yet cost effective — facilities on their campuses.  Join us to find out how the facilities planning and management experts at some of the Northeast’s most respected higher education institutions anticipate and handle these issues.

Topics of discussion include the long term outlook for higher education, leadership in transforming operations to meet the needs of the “Knowledge Age,” reinventing strategies and business models to reflect the “new normal”; trends such as the increasing integration of technology in measuring performance and tracking improvement; the evolution of sustainability / facility planning for environmental impacts; and the impact of recent trends in construction and funding on campus facility management.

Attend to learn from the individuals who direct Facilities, Planning, Design and Construction for some of New England’s top-ranked public and private academic institutions.  The panel’s moderator will be Katharine Mace “Trina” Learned / Wellesley College.  Panelists include James Brassord, P.E. / Amherst College; ElizabethMinnis, AIA / MA Division of Capital Asset Management & Maintenance (DCAMM); Keith Epstein, AIA / Connecticut State Colleges & Universities; Laura A. Cruickshank, AIA / University of Connecticut; David Frassinelli / Fairfield University; and Elizabeth Isenstein / Tufts University.
