New Startup Launched, Specializing in Industrialized Construction

Boston – Industrialized Construction Group (ICG), a new startup launched in January, is specializing in the Industrialized Construction (IC) field. ICG’s mission is to lead the construction industry into a new era of construction manufacturing excellence.

ICG is partnering with contractors, MEPs, and specialty trades to develop their product strategy; build future critical construction manufacturing skill sets utilizing their comprehensive, hands-on learning modules; and optimize production operations. They work with clients to redefine operational excellence in construction and enable IC mindsets.

ICG has developed an Industrialized Construction Maturity Assessment (ICMA), an in-depth and direct observation-based rating system. It’s used to improve the performance of construction project partners and avoid risks. Prefabricators and modular builders leverage their ICMA scorecards to guide strategy and move toward operational excellence.

The ICG team consists of change agents, lean experts, and business leaders who have worked across design, field construction, prefabrication, modular building, and manufacturing for dozens of years. The three partners, Melissa McEwen, Nick Masci, and Sally Mizell, bring a plethora of expertise to the ICG team.

Mizell leads the delivery of ICG’s Construction Manufacturing Solutions. She has experience that cuts across the IC ecosystem. In the past, she’s worked as an operational and lean leader in manufacturing, general contracting, modular manufacturing, and installation. McEwen leads and played a major role in the development of the ICG Industrialized Construction Maturity Assessment. She has 24 years of experience in the AEC industry specifically in strategy development, process involvement, and organizational assessments. Masci leads the ICG’s Owner’s Advisory Services, bringing productization to projects and programs. As a principal with 25 years of experience in the construction industry, he uses lean manufacturing principles to shift the mindset of owners, builders, and designers to IC.

ICG team member Stephen Hayes is an industrial engineer with experience in both automotive and construction, while Coleton Callender brings expertise in production engineering and process improvement, with experience at the contractor level and in integrated modular construction.
