New Multi-Residential Building Opens in Griswold

Oak Tree Village

Griswold, CT – Dakota Partners celebrated the Grand Opening of Oak Tree Village, a new mixed-income apartment community in Griswold on June 8.

Offering a mix of affordable and market rate units, Oak Tree Village was designed with luxury and sustainability in mind. It features traditional New England architecture and was built according to Passive House standards, utilizing super insulation, airtight building envelope and heat-recovery ventilation systems to reduce overall energy consumption.

Oak Tree Village features 72 new units within two buildings spanning three floors. Phase I included construction of a clubhouse. The community offers a mix of one- and two-bedroom, open-concept style apartments to a mixed-income market. Planned in two phases, the entire development will consist of 144 apartments within four, three-story garden-style buildings.

Public transportation options are available in close proximity to the community, including a proposed Route 8 Southeast Area Transit (SEAT) bus stop at the entrance of the property. Commuters needing access to Route 395 will find an access ramp just outside of the community.

Speakers at the grand opening included Dakota principal, Roberto Arista; the town of Griswold’s first selectman, Todd Babbitt; Department of Housing commissioner, Seila Mosquera-Bruno; Connecticut Housing Finance Authority CEO, Nandini Natarajan; and two Oak Tree Village residents, Krystyna Ademi and Fran Korzenko. Dakota opted to host the event virtually.
