Boston – J.M. Electrical Company, Inc., professionals in advanced automated building system installations and headquartered in Lynnfield, has completed another successful project in Boston’s Seaport District, marking a significant milestone for the company in the Hub’s newest area development. J.M. Electrical completed project operations at the PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) headquarters, that included the installation of the facility’s building automation and heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and cooling (HVAC) system for the 18-story building.
“There has been significant development in the Seaport District over the past decade, and we are happy that we’ve been able to make noteworthy contributions to this area of the city,” said Paul Guarracino, president at J.M. Electrical Company.
At the PwC headquarters, J.M. Electrical installed a building automation system that ties the facility’s HVAC system to one user interface. In addition, the firm monitors and controls a rain water collection system, which is estimated to contribute to a 40% reduction in water use at the facility. Because of the significant energy-efficient technology installed at the facility, in part by J.M. Electrical, the PwC headquarters was awarded the LEED Platinum Building Certification. To ensure that the project was completed on time and on budget, the team worked an aggressive schedule from November 2014 to December 2015, with two foremen overseeing up to eight electricians on the construction site during day-to-day operations.
