Boston  – Electrified Thermal Solutions recently celebrated the official grand opening of its headquarters at Hood Park, a 20-acre, mixed-use development in Boston’s Charlestown neighborhood. Electrified Thermal Solutions signed a 10-year lease at 570 Rutherford Avenue and occupies more than 17,000sf on campus to accommodate its R&D and E-Brick manufacturing operations.

Developed at MIT a decade ago, Electrified Thermal Solutions is pioneering the future of zero-carbon industrial heat that can compete with natural gas on cost. The electrically and thermally conductive bricks at the heart of Electrified Thermal Solutions’ Joule Hive Thermal Battery represent a step-change improvement in electric heating technology in terms of high-temperature performance, ease of grid integration and reliability. The company’s thermal battery converts and stores electricity as heat, delivering near-flame temperatures (up to 1,800°C / 3,272°F), offering a cost-effective, clean alternative to fossil fuels.

“Hood Park gives us the infrastructure to do what we came here to do — manufacture E-Bricks, push our Joule Hive technology forward, and build the team that will bring zero-carbon industrial heat to scale,” said Electrified Thermal Solutions’ co-founders, Daniel Stack and Joey Kabel. “This started in a basement lab at MIT, and now we’re producing the world’s most advanced electrically conductive firebricks right here in Charlestown. That’s not a small thing. We’re proud to be part of this community and grateful to Hood Park for creating a place where companies like ours can actually build.”

“We are excited to welcome Electrified Thermal Solutions to Hood Park, where they will continue their groundbreaking work in industrial decarbonization,” said Chris Kaneb, manager of Hood Park LLC. “Our vision has always been to support forward-thinking companies that drive innovation in Greater Boston and beyond, and their work in clean energy solutions is a strong fit for our dynamic climate tech campus community.”

Leasing for Electrified Thermal Solutions’ new facility at Hood Park was led by Newmark. The company joins climate tech and tough tech companies already on-site at Hood Park, including Ionomr Innovations, Lydian Labs, and ArkeaBio.
