Cambridge, MA – HMFH Architects recently announced today a $16,000 donation to the Child Care Resource Center (CCRC) in Cambridge, Ma.

The first child care resource and referral agency in Massachusetts and one of the first in the nation, the Child Care Resource Center is a non-profit organization and a regional provider of child care vouchers and resource and referral services for families. CCRC is the lead agency of a broad partnership to develop and deliver professional development services to providers and educators across the Boston metropolitan area.

“HMFH focuses its practice on educational facilities and is deeply committed to promoting the importance of high quality education for all children. CCRC’s focus on creating and promoting excellence in early education for low and moderate income children is in line with the goals that HMFH strives to achieve through our work,” said HMFH Principal Laura Wernick, AIA, REFP, LEED® AP, president of the Board of Directors for CCRC. “HMFH is particularly interested in supporting CCRC this year as CCRC approaches its 40th anniversary of helping young children thrive. A group of CCRC’s supporters have initiated a Forty by Forty campaign in which they will match dollar for dollar donation given by the end of the year up to $40,000 in order to ensure this important organization has the resources to enhance its programming now and be on a sure footing for the next 40 years. HMFH is pleased to be able to help CCRC meet their fundraising goal.”

As the new grantee for Educator and Provider Support, CCRC is expanding its role in designing and delivering professional development services in 60 cities and towns. In this capacity, CCRC is working with over 30 programs and agencies; developing a coordinated system to guide and support the professional growth of educators in over 2,000 early childhood and out-of-school-time programs; and building the quality of programs serving thousands of children and youth across the region.

“We are so grateful to HMFH Architects for their long-standing support of CCRC,” said Gloria Franqui, executive director of CCRC. “During these tough economic times service agencies like ours are doing more with less and this donation will allow us to continue to offer and expand services to families and children.”
