Hingham, MA – Hingham Municipal Lighting Plant staff members recently joined general contractor CTA Construction of Waltham for a topping-off ceremony for the utility’s new office and maintenance facility. Following tradition, the staff took turns autographing the final structural beam later hoisted into place on the building frame.

When completed, the 24,000sf, single-story building on Bare Cove Park Drive will include offices, vehicle storage, and a warehouse. On the roof, a photovoltaic system will convert sunlight into electricity. The $8 million project is slated for completion next spring.

The building architect is Helene Karl Architects of Groton, and the owner’s project manager is The Vertex Companies, Inc., of Boston.
