Wrentham, MA – Mount Saint Mary’s Abby in Wrentham recently celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony on their new Candy Production Building. Saint Mary’s Abbey is the first monastery of Cistercian Nuns in the United States. The sisters come from all parts of the United States and from several other countries.
Ryan Construction, Inc. is construction manager. Architectural Design Concepts was the designer.
At the ground breaking Mother Maureen McCabe, Abbess, made the opening remarks followed by Richard Shields, President of Ryan Construction, Inc. and Butch Razoyk of Architectural Design Concepts.
When completed 17,900sf building will be heated and cooled by means of geothermal energy. Electricity will come from the newly installed wind turbine. Solar panels will be installed to heat domestic water.
