As part of Governor Patrick’s Massachusetts Recovery Plan to secure the state’s economic future, the Commonwealth  seeks to invest in energy efficiency projects at facilities throughout the state using funds
made available under the American Reconstruction and Recovery Act of 2009 (ARRA). The Green Communities Act of July 2008, sets aggressive energy goals for Massachusetts, including a 10% reduction in fossil fuel use in buildings by 2020 and 25% reduction in electric load by 2020. The MA High-Performance Buildings Grant Program managed by the MA Department of Energy Resources will award an estimated $15 Million in available  grant funding to projects or programs demonstrating solutions that dramatically improve building energy performance and that
dramatically expand the number of buildings retrofitted in the state.
