Dorchester, MA – Cristo Rey Boston High School (CRB) announced that Gilbane Building Company and Thomas F. Gilbane, Jr. was honored at the annual Academic Signing Day Celebration. Academic Signing Day honors the accomplishments of the senior class and their journey to college.
CRB uses an innovative educational model where students work one day a week in a corporate setting, gaining career skills, and four days dedicated to a college preparatory academic schedule.
Gilbane Building Company has been a Corporate Work Study Partner since 2010. Under Thomas F. Gilbane, Jr., the company has demonstrated a deep commitment to creating an inclusive culture and promoting the creation of diverse teams that bring a wealth of thought leadership to the company.
Creating opportunities for young people to gain exposure to the field of architecture and construction has been a passion for Gilbane. He regularly participates in career exploration programs run by the CWSP Office that create opportunity for students to explore careers in various fields.Gilbane has chaired for six years and continues to serve on the Executive Committee of the ACE Mentor Program of America, an organization dedicated to preparing students for both college and careers in architecture, construction, and engineering.
