Boston, MA -Edwin J. Fremder, Esq. was presented with the Joseph M. Corwin Lifetime Achievement Award at the Associated Subcontractors of Massachusetts’ Biennial Dinner Gala held Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at the Museum of Fine Arts.

The prestigious Joseph M. Corwin Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to individuals who have shown outstanding leadership and dedication to ASM and the subcontracting industry. Presented only 6 times in16 years, Ed received the award for his tireless commitment as lead Counsel to the organization and its members for over 15 years.

“It is truly an honor to receive the Joseph M. Corwin Lifetime Achievement Award,” said Monica Lawton, CEO of the Association. “The award was created in honor of its first recipient, Joseph Corwin, who is often referred to as the father of construction law in Massachusetts. Ed has consistently demonstrated his commitment to the philosophy set by Joe and Sally Corwin, who firmly believed in fighting for fairness for all subcontractors.”

Ed holds a law degree from Case Western Reserve and first entered private practice in 1977 and has become one of the most respected construction attorneys in the state. His commitment to Corwin & Corwin included his service as Counsel to ASM.

During his tenure as lead Counsel to ASM, he was instrumental in laying the groundwork for ASM’s greatest achievement – the 2010 Prompt Pay Law. He has testified at hundreds of legislative hearings, wrote countless letters in support or opposition to legislative proposals, and worked with ASM to formulate the organization’s legislative strategy.

Ed is now retiring from the practice of law and he and his wife, Linda, will be spending the next year in Paris.
