CT ABC Recognizes Maplewood Senior Living Project

Farmington, CT – The Connecticut Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors (CT ABC) has recognized KBE Building Corporation’s Maplewood Senior Living project with first place in its Health Care category at the organization’s annual Excellence in Construction Awards program. The project was also honored with the 2020 Spirit Award for the project team that included the most CT ABC members.

The KBE project team, project owner Maplewood Senior Living, and the project’s numerous trade contractors were honored at the organization’s virtual awards event on Oct. 22.

KBE provided Construction Management at Risk services for the new senior living community nestled into a residential neighborhood in Southport. The team included Maplewood Senior Living, project owner; KBE Building Corporation, construction manager at risk; Stein/Troost LLC Architects, architect of record; Perkins Eastman, interior designer; Szewczak Associates, structural engineer; Landtech, civil engineer; Peterson Engineering Group, MEP engineer; GZA GeoEnvironmental, geotechnical engineer; and Environmental Land Solutions, landscape architect.

The awards program recognizes outstanding building projects and excellence in collaboration among team members while increasing awareness in Connecticut’s local communities regarding the quantity and quality of work being produced by members of the ABC CT chapter.

Maplewood at Southport is a three-story, 92,000sf, 98-unit assisted living and memory care facility providing 21 light memory care units, 32 heavy memory care units, and 45 assisted living units for residents at all levels of care.
