Salisbury, MA – Key Construction Solutions of Framingham announced that construction is underway on the Root & Bloom cannabis cultivation and processing facility in Salisbury, scheduled to open this fall.

The over 40,000sf facility is being designed by Anderson Porter Design, Inc. of Cambridge. Root & Bloom, Inc. will enter the cannabis market as an adult-use cultivation and product manufacturing company with a focus on creating high-quality products while prioritizing sustainability, innovation, and giving back to the local community.

It is designed to meet Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) standards as set forth by the FDA. By addressing potential cGMP hurdles now – relative to food safety, consumer safety and advanced manufacturing standards – projects in development can design for adherence to operational requirements for pharmaceutical validation.

The project will include a complete redevelopment of the site with newly built facility and grounds, and a purpose-built food product manufacturing space. In the final stages of engineering and design, it will create a low-risk and highly-repeatable cultivation and manufacturing process, enabling the operation to be efficient and highly profitable while consistently producing a high-quality product.

“At every step in our process, Root & Bloom has invested in the best minds and most innovative firms to build our company into Massachusetts’ premier grower, manufacturer, and distributor of craft cannabis and cannabis products, “ said George Haseltine, co-founder of Root & Bloom. “We are excited to partner with Key to build our 40,000sf facility, featuring the latest innovations in technology, from seed to sale. With Key’s experience in the cannabis field, coupled with their reputation for excellence, we are looking forward to a project that will set the standards for quality, sustainability, and efficiency in the market.”
