Boston – Shawmut Design and Construction participated in the 2022 Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC), marking the 15th consecutive year the firm has participated in the two-day bike-a-thon in Massachusetts. The team rode from Sturbridge to Provincetown with over 6,000 other riders to increase awareness and raise funds for cancer research and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

This year, Team Shawmut raised $118,000 and counting, breaking its fundraising goal once again and accumulating $1.9 million in total fundraising since the team’s inception. The money raised directly supports the research being conducted by Dana-Farber’s Dr. Christopher Sweeney, who rode with Team Shawmut for the eighth consecutive year.

Team Shawmut, which also includes CEO Les Hiscoe, Shawmut employees, friends and patients, has consistently raised more than $100,000 per year to support Sweeney’s efforts, enabling him and his team to create a unique database of cancer specimens, discover key causes of incurable cancer, and test a new drug designed to make standard therapies more effective.

“Supporting the PMC year after year is an inspiring and motivating tradition, and I am grateful for the continued support and commitment Team Shawmut receives from our employees, friends, family, and partners,” said Hiscoe.
