CDM has been retained by Partners HealthCare Systems to prepare a strategic energy master plan (SEMP) to reduce energy consumption at nine health care facilities, comprising 13.8 million sf of operating space. These facilities include Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, McLean Hospital, Faulkner Hospital, North Shore Medical Center, Nantucket Cottage Hospital, Newton-Wellesley Hospital, Rehabilitation Hospital of the Cape and Islands, and Shaughnessy-Kaplan Rehabilitation Hospital. Partners is seeking to reduce its energy consumption over the next 10 years through energy reduction measures and capital improvements. Using 2008 energy and utility costs as a baseline, CDM will explore traditional energy conservation options as well as renewable energy sources, such as solar, wind, and biofuels. The SEMP will include a detailed 10-year capital improvement program, which will define Partners’ strategic plan. nov facilities
