Boston Nonprofit Raises $1M for Low-Income Housing

Braintree, MA – Caritas Communities held its 33rd Annual Dinner at the Westin Waterfront on January 28, raising over $1,000,000 for permanent housing and supportive services for very low income residents in Greater Boston.

Over 700 guests were in attendance to honor Rick High, president of John M. Corcoran and Co., with the P. Leo Corcoran Humanitarian Award.

With the P. Leo Corcoran Humanitarian Award, Caritas Communities recognizes the intentions and deeds of individuals and organizations committed to meeting the needs of low-income individuals in the Greater Boston area.

High was a natural choice for the honor, due to both his professional commitment to affordable housing, as well as the generous personal philanthropy of he and his wife Anne Perkins, which is directed toward charities serving the neediest people of Greater Boston. In his remarks, High credited his late mentors, John and Leo Corcoran, as role models.

Lead sponsor of the event was Walker & Dunlop.
